The Project for the business, technological, entrepreneurial and innovative exchange in matters of high economic impact between the Canary Islands and West Africa, AFRIMAC II, was presented today by the president of the Island Council of Fuerteventura, Blas Acosta.
Also present at the event were the minister of Economic Promotion, Manuel Hernández, the General Director of Foreign Relations of the Government of the Canary Islands, Juan Francisco Trujillo, the technical advisor of the General Direction of Foreign Actions and Internationalization, Paula Hernández, the components of the AFRIMAC project, the director Carlos David Gutiérrez and the technical worker Paula Sosa, and the heads of projects and international cooperation of Fundación Radio Ecca, Gabriela Álvarez and Sara Rebollo.
The president of the Island Council of Fuerteventura emphasized that “The objective of this Government Group through this project is the diversification of the economy and the business opportunity for local enterprises, which have the real compromise of this Island Council” and thanked the work done by the director of the AFRIMAC II project, Carlos David Gutiérrez, as well as the vice-minister of Foreign Action of the Government of the Canary Islands and the Fundación Radio Ecca.
For the General Director of Foreign Relations of the Government of the Canary Islands, Juan Francisco Trujillo, the AFRIMAC II project, framed within the Agenda 2030 for the Sustainable Development, “it is a continuity of a previous initiative with an important impact in the different areas where it has been developed, whose success is contrasted through the indicators of the activities carried out”. He adds, “The Island Council has been able to consolidate a brilliant work of external action and, therefore, form the Vice-Ministry we consider necessary the joint cooperation, highlighting the importance of the external contacts network”.
Lastly, the person responsible for projects and international cooperation of the Fundación Canaria Radio Ecca, Gabriela Álvarez, said that “Radio Ecca, the education institution, collaborates with this project providing design, training, sensitivity and communication through the promotion of business exchange and the encouragement of the women’s work”.
